Our wineries focus on producing world class wines from cold hardy wine grapes that can be grown in our region. These grapes need to be able to survive temperatures as cold as 35 degrees below zero in winter.

Growing grapes in the midwest is sometimes a difficult prospect. In addition to extreme temperatures we annually have to deal with the real possibility of early and late frost, high humidity and rainfall that sometimes seems to be never ending. These conditions combine to create challenges in growing grapes that other regions in the USA never experience.

Passport Program

Our passport program allows visitors to earn a wine glass once they have visited and received stamps from each of the member wineries.

No purchase is necessary and completed passports may be turned in at any time.

The passport is incorporated into our brochure and is available at any of the participating wineries and can be stamped any day other than the day of an Iowa Wine Trail Event.
